Resolving Tableau Error: "Obfuscation is Disabled"

Symptoms

If you've received a validation email regarding a failing Tableau integration with the error message "Obfuscation is disabled with your site settings so your results have been automatically filtered to contain only the results you have permissions to see," here's what you need to do:

Resolution

Check out this Tableau documentation to enable the "Show complete lineage" setting: Tableau Documentation. Please ensure you have the necessary permissions to make this change on the Tableau side.

Keep in mind that Tableau metadata collection occurs every 12 hours. Once the setting has been adjusted, allow up to 12 hours for the issue to be resolved.

Cause

The Tableau setting "Show complete lineage" is disabled.
